News Article - iCubed Attending Anti-Crime March

13 October 2010

iCubed Technologies will be closing doors for 1 hour to attend the anti-crime march in Lenasia, on 14 October.

iCubed Technologies has always been willing to assist with the fight against crime. The introduction and development of Lenasia Crime Alert has assisted in the awareness of criminal activities and is an invaluable tool in this fight. However, like every citizen of Lenasia, we are also ‘gatvol’ of crime!

At the last anti-crime meeting that was held, the Police Commissioner essentially told the residents of Lenasia that we are to blame for the crime situation. With the exception of the new Sector Policing unit, nothing else has been done about crime in Lenasia. But Lenasians are still being terrorised by criminals while the police seem powerless to act. To counter this, we are adding our voices and stomping our feet by supporting the anti-crime march taking place tomorrow. iCubed Technologies will be closing our offices and taking part in the anti-crime march to raise awareness and demand that the council takes our crime problem seriously.

This march will be taking place at Park Primary School in Lenasia Extension 1 at 11am. The organisers have drafted a petition and this has been signed by thousands of Lenasia residents. This petition will be handed over to a representative of the provincial government. It is expected that over 5000 people will take to the streets to peacefully demand our right to live in a safe and secure environment.

iCubed Technologies fully supports this endeavour, through the event's Facebook page, and by closing our doors and shutting down all services, except the emergency support line, for an hour where all our team members will be taking part in this march. Citizens of Lenasia, it is time our voices are heard. We encourage all residents and business-owners to stand up and take to the streets.

The details of the march can be viewed on Facebook but we include them here for your benefit:

  • Date: 14 October 2010

Every resident of Lenasia has been affected by crime. Together, we can and will make Lenasia safer for all its residents.
